Anything written by the Bragg's is the Bible of how to live a healthy life! The recipes didn't disappoint. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Thanks.

I thought this book was wonderful. It had a breakdown of exactly what foods had what vitamins/ minerals and proteins. When you are a vegetarian you are always bombarded with questions like what are you eating to get this or that. So it's nice to be able to answer

You don't have to be a vegetarian to take advantage of this book. I am a non-vegetarian with a 1 1/2-year-old daughter who does not like meat. I was very worried that she would not get enough protein and iron so I purchased this book to educate myself more about non-animal sources of the nutrients. What an eye-opener! Even the nutrition courses I took in college did not provide me with such wealth of information. This book will tell you all you need to know to feed yourself and your family healthily and nutritiously. Interestingly, it will also change the way you look at the food on your plate. I'll be delighted if my daughter will one day happily eat red meat (organic of course). But I no longer worry that she doesn't.

I was given this book several years ago, but, resulting from several moves, I lost it on the way. I finally got around to ordering it to, again, enjoy the California influenced recipes that are contained. It is a welcome re-addition to my humble collection of recipe books.

I focused anew on healthy foods a few months ago, and several recipes from this cookbook are in my "regular rotation". They are very tasty, easy to fix, and call for easy-to-find ingredients. I like the page lay-out of the book, too. I have lost over 25 pounds in 4 mos without ever going hungry or "dieting". When my doctor's nurse called to tell me about the improvement in my blood lipid panel, she added, "We rarely see so much improvement." My favorite recipes (paraphrased titles which I am copying from the back of my meal-planner) are:
sweet-and-sour tofu with broc & pprs, p. 261
curried tofu w fruit & quinoa, p. 345
hoisin & black-bean stir-fry w carrots, pprs, squash, snow-peas, p. 137
caul & raisin ... Read More:

This is a wonderful resource for strictly vegetarian families or families with vegan children. This book is very informative and even has great vegan recipes to offer. However,I should agree with users who suggest that the title of this book should rather be "Raising vegan children". The item arrived very fast and in superb condition.

Although some of the statistics in this book may be out of date, the information is still quite accurate (you just have to use the ratios given and apply to todays costs).
This book will provide you an education on why a vegetarian diet is good for you and how you can actually provide all the nutrition you need from various fruit, veg & legumes. Even if you are not intending to become a total vegetarian it will provide you with a newer healthy perspective of what to eat and how to find the various products.
One aspect of the book that I find interesting is the wide amount of research done about socio-economic impacts of a general meat-eating populus. It actually points out that a lot of essential foods (vegetables ... Read More:

I am relatively new to the Ayruvedic Lifestyle having read several books and consulted an Aryuvedic Physician. The book however is a wealth of information about Ayruveda and eating healthy. The author presents much general information in an informative and at times humorous style that is clear. The recipes are sometimes complex but once the reader assembles the ingredients, the rest is fully explained. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious in learning how to cook for balance and health.
