I doubt many of the other reviewers here who gave this book 1 star actually read the whole book. Kathryn Paxton George realizes that humans and esspecially women lose when a pro-animal rights agenda is forced on them. She picks up on the conflict between animal rights and humanist feminism. Veganism is ideal for a healthy adult male, but is difficult in practice for women and child, esspecially in the third world. Veganism requires a complex and well planned diet to work. Unfortunately many don't have access to these resources. Read the book, she presents actual science. Kathryn Paxton George understands veganism is healthy and that animal products are not environmentally sound, but opposes the tying of the feminist agenda with the vegan agenda. ... Read More:

Feminism AND veganism? This would seem like the book of my dreams. But it wasn't.
I was looking for some really strong arguments backed with opinions and modern issues, but there wasn't anything like that in this book. In fact I'm sure that I could come up with better points in comparing animal exploitation to women's exploitation.
Though I do feel happy that this book was written and I respect Carol J. Adams for writing it.

Zach Larson has allowed us to dive knee-deep into the truly wonderful wisdom and spiritual teachings of Chatral Rinpoche. I am deeply impressed by the purely spectacular lessons of this book. It's a must read!
In my view, essentially Dr. Tuttle's research answers the question "Why are humans behaving so violently on Earth?" The World Peace Diet also answers the question of "What did humans eat before they invented tools and discovered fire?" He refers to humans, who we all know first lived in the tropics, as frugivorous herbivores. This is consistent with the Natural Health practioners with whom I study, and logic in my view.
After reading this book with an open mind, (keep in mind I had to get past my bad habit of criticizing), I realized the countless dollars tax payers could save just by collectively learning to think through a vegan paradigm of non-violence. This book has answered so many of my most burning questions. I feel like I can move on now to live my life with such ... Read More:

First off, I will echo the sentiment of another reviewer by stating that some of the author's arguments are rather weak, particularly his argument against organic/free range meat. To give you an idea, he says that because there aren't enough resources to produce enough organic/free range meat for everyone to maintain their current levels of meat consumption, we shouldn't do it at all. He doesn't even bother, for example, to mention the possibility that we might simply reduce our levels of meat consumption, or that those who do restrict their meat diet to organic/free range meat consume lower levels of meat than the average Westerner.
On the whole, I was disappointed by the lack of concrete reasoning and the lack of exploration of arguments for and against vegetarianism, but I suppose ... Read More:
