After my new dentist badgered me to get a Waterpik, she obviously knew I just wasn't the type to get my big hands in my small mouth with some dumb old string, I finally ordered one. It really has been worth every penny. Even convinced my wife to start using it and some gum problems she has had are starting to go away. We can't understand why her dentist hasn't been bugging her like mine did. About the only complaint I have is it works counterintuitively. I would have thought when you push the button on the hand held head that it would pump but it is the opposite. Turn the switch and you better have it in your mouth ready to go and only push the button when you need to remove the head from your mouth. I've done my share of washing the ... Read More:

I bought this shortly after I got braces. I chose this model because I don't have the counter space in my bathroom for the big tank and it was a reasonable price. I only use it once a day and worked great. I did notice that I had to fill up the tank 2 times sometimes 3 to get through one cleaning. I am ok with that, its not that annoying. However, after about 4 months of use it completely died and wouldn't charge. Since this model has a 2-year warrenty I contacted Waterpik and they sent me a brand new unit with in a week. They suggessted that you remove the pressure tip after each use because water that is left inside it can seeps back down inside and in the battery housing (it doesn't tell you that in the directions). I have done that since ... Read More:

I was always sceptic about the waterpick versus flossing. But this product does work the same and maybe even better. It does get the teeth very clean, in every little pocket. I have braces and it works great around them with the standard tip. No more touching the gross floss :))
Pros: Gets the teeth sparkling clean. Period.
Cons: The tip DOES rotate easily, like other reviewers mentioned. Not sure if it's a safety issue, but it is rotating way too easy. Workaround - I just hold it by the tip instead of the body and regulate it.
The tank does empty very fast, but the workaround - just keep the faucet running and from time to time just fill in the water without stopping, just bend low :) It works fine and saves time.

I have owned several WaterPiks over the years and the biggest problem is the junky plastic supply hose that gets brittle over time. Once it gets brittle there is no fixing it, as cutting off a little piece on the end and reattaching it to the handle only works for maybe one or two more uses, then it starts leaking and you have to do it again. After you do this about a dozen times you are ready to scream! So I bought the replacement hose on-line (about $15 with shipping for a 50 cent part!!!) and opened up the unit (have to use a couple small screwdrivers to pry open the tabs on the bottom, but pretty easy). But when I tried attaching the new hose to the little plastic nipple on the pump that it attaches to, the nipple broke. Poor, cheap design...the ... Read More:

what a relief to find this device. our 8-yr-old has braces, and even with those floss threader-thingies i was doing a terrible job trying to floss his teeth. i do much better with this. our 10-yr-old didn't have the patience or coordination to floss on his own until we got him one of these, and now he calmly integrates it into his evening routine - he just needed some supervision & guidance the first few times. i'll always use regular floss myself, but for those who can't or won't, this is a great alternative.

I have braces and thought this product might be easier than using a "threader" to floss. I think the whitening thing is a bit of a gimmick, but it does a reasonable job of flossing. However, when I tried to open the unit to change the batteries, the head broke off and I can't get it to snap back on--nor can I find the battery compartment. I looked online, and I simply couldn't make any sense of the instructions. Seems like a pretty big design flaw to me.

I reviewed this product before. I gave it a bad review because I received the wrong item and the company had not responded to me about it. Well, since then, the company has responded and it sent the correct item and let me keep the wrong item as well. I am happy now and thought I better update my previous bad review.

I have a few complaints about this toothbrush. When I use it on high speed, it splatters everywhere and messes up my mirror. CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE BRUSH FROM MOUTH WITHOUT TURNING THE UNIT OFF FIRST! Also, the on/off button is poorly situated and way too sensitive. The unit keeps shutting off while I'm brushing because my thumb accidentally hits the button, and it turns on every time I wipe off the handle. I've never had that problem with any other electric toothbrush. I also don't like the way it switches to high speed before I can turn it off after I've been using it on low speed. This makes it splatter everywhere. It should have two separate buttons - one for one/off and one for low/high speed. My last complaint is that the brushes don't fit tightly ... Read More:
