This electric kettle boils water really quickly because the heating element is a submerged coil, not just a plate on the bottom.
The kettle automatically turns off when the water boils. It doesn't make a sound though to let you know when this has happened - only a slight clicking noise as the on-off switch physically flicks to off - so if you want boiling water, it's best not to walk away. Just watch it until it boils. Luckily it only takes a minute or two since the kettle is so fast.
It's only intended for boiling *water* - no making soup or tea in this kettle, because of the heating coil.

I needed a small cooker for dips, and this unit has proved to be the perfect choice. Well made, inexpensive, and versitile temp control. It will fit in nicely with my two larger cookers. BUT, I've got to question all the reviewers that said it's perfect for small families. How small are we talkin' here? Like Barbie doll size? This is a tiny cooker. It will hold 3-4 chicken breasts, or one very small chicken. It would cook just about the right amount of oatmeal for two adults, but beyond that it's suited for two adult sized entree at best unless you pack it with food and sit on the top.
Here's a good small sized recipe:
Brown 1.5# of cubed pork chunks(shoulder or butt) and add to cooker with one medium sliced onion, 1 chopped ... Read More:

It toasts VERY slowly, and the results are slightly uneven and inconsistent. Dense bread that's stored in the fridge (like bagels) barely brown on the highest setting. I wish I had returned this before the 30 days expired.

I bought this to make baby food and it does a great job. So much easier than using my big blender and then having to clean up so much stuff. But yes - that button HURTS. What were they thinking? I use it only for little amounts of food and even then it hurts my finger. Thats why I give this 4 stars only

This waffle maker is Definitely Not for Morning waffles. If you have all Sunday for brunch, you can make decent budget waffles for 4 in half-an-hour. Don't expect 'restaurant quality' as some here have said. These make deep-welled, tho unevenly browned, home-made American waffles. Good to eat, but not really Belgian as you may find in a nice restaurant.
I made the buttermilk recipe from the package instructions. Took 7 mins. per waffle!! I used a kitchen timer. Breakfast for 4? You'd have to make the waffles in advance to have them ready for all to eat together. 1/2 hour to cook four waffles = not hot and crisply just-made. I did try using less batter, but they didn't cook faster. It just made a funny-shaped waffle as the batter ... Read More:

The Proctor Silex Blender is quite good in making smoothies and blending things in general. It has multi-speeds as well as a high and low pulse option.

I am overall very pleased with this coffee maker, and would buy it again based on initial observations.
Once I put the new machine through its initial requisite three cycles for cleaning, I made my first pot of coffee using Melita No. 4 paper filter and increasing the coffee measurements about 25% because it looked light to me.
The brew was good and fast, but I think I would increase the grounds by 1/2 to get the depth of color and aroma I want.
Also, if one were to use a finer ground of coffee, (mine was regular grind) the brew would probably be darker.
Everything on the machine works the way the directions say, it is a great buy at the price, and I am happy with the small footprint and short height under the ... Read More:

We purchased this toaster based mostly on its size and appearance. I had brought home a couple of others which just did not fit my space. One was too tall and came too close to the cabinet above it, and one took up too much space on the counter. The Proctor Silex 4-Slice Toaster is compact and attractive and on top of that, it toasts the bread very well. It doesn't have a lot of frills, but does toast bagels as well as bread, and that's what we were interested in. It is much more reasonably priced than almost any other brand. If it has any drawbacks, it's that it seems a little light in weight. Although we've had it for only a month, we are quite satisfied with it.
