Irish singer/songwriter Enya returns with her seventh studio album and first holiday release, And Winter Came. An Enya holiday album has long been anticipated by fans, and after a twenty plus year career, Enya finally decided to appease her loyal fans. More than anything else, And Winter Came is a gift from Enya to her fans to help them ring in the holidays Gaelic style.
This album is perfect for long-time Enya fans, but for other listeners, there isn't really anything here that will get them excited about the album. Each song does have the signature Enya sound, but there is little else to make them stand out. The album does have a strong winter flair to it, but if you mixed it in with Enya's other songs and put it on shuffle, you ... Read More:

The typical Idol debut record is cranked out within 6 months of the end of the TV show to capitalize on the holidays and to mitigate the effects of the public's short-term memory and the impending next season of Idol.
As a result, the typical Idol debut record is fairly predictable (gotta keep the Idol stable of writers/producers busy!), safe (have to appeal to grammas and tweens who watch the shows) and engineered for maximum Top 40 single appeal (The Man gotta get paid!) Consumers get Another Idol Record - 2.5 Stars, good enough to tide over till next season's favorite, but nothing memorable.
This is not the typical Idol debut record, despite being subject to the same time and corporate strictures as previous Idol records. ... Read More:

While I think Taylor has some good songwriting skills and is a cute girl, her voice is seriously lacking. While her voice on the CD sounds ok, I caught her live on a CMT special. I couldn't believe it was the same person! Her voice was off key, scratchy and sounded like she was straining on the higher notes (and again, off key!) Like another reviewer mentioned, she needs some voice lessons. If you're a big fan, stick to the CD. I wouldn't pay a cent to listen to her in concert!

I am not the biggest Nickel Fan, have all their albums but to be honest do not hear the entire album, but, when I got Dark Horse I let it play during the whole Internet surfing session and let me say that i Liked all of the song on this one. Most are so powerful and deep, that it really made me repeat it for at least 4 time last night. Best songs are : Something in your mouth, Gotta be somebody, I'd Come For you, I today was... Burn it to... and the best of all as a ballad, IMHO, For me, and deep slow songs fans, Never gonna be alone.

Forget American Idol David Cook, the runner up is the one that is going to go the farthest. This album has the right amount of everything. It has originals, remakes of classics, and other amazing songs. David Archuleta is the most talented 17 year old on the planet. His voice is phenomenal. I haven't heard anything this sweet in my entire life. I have to strongly recommend that everyone who loves good music buy this album immediately.
