Great ukulele for beginners or if you want to see if you'll like playing the ukulele. If you keep playing the ukulele I strongly suggest getting a better ukulele because its kind of flimsy.

My daughter got this set for xmas when she was around 20 months. She's still playing with it all the time a year later. It's all quality stuff and she could use it all from the start. I was amazed at how fast she learned how the kazoo worked and it was not long after that she started in with the harmonica. The quality of construction is high, however, some of the paint on the egg shakers and on the drum surface now has small chips in it, so I would be careful if your child is still putting things in their mouth.

Our son got one of these about 6 months ago, around his 2nd birthday. Now here we are, 6 months later, and this guitar is still serving its purpose - it's a toy.
He's not gentle with it. I've lost count of how many times I've seen him step on the body or the neck. It's still going strong. No broken strings, no quality problems at all.
Guys - if your 10 or 12 year old is taking guitar lessons - buy him a guitar, not a toy that happens to be shaped like a guitar.

I was so disappointed in the fact that the guitar didn't come with any picks or a strap- I didn't realize it when ordering, or I would have ordered that, too. My son had trouble holding it without the strap... when I finally got around to buying those items, I showed the guitar to my brother, who has been playing for 30 years, and he said it didn't stay tuned. once you play a chord, it goes out of tune. I'm not thrilled, to say the least.

The harmonica comes with a CD, a book, and its own zip case attached to the book. The book simplifies learning how to play the harmonica and gives a child or an adult an easy instrument to learn with out the complication. Very detailed in a simplistic way.

I have to say I'm a little embarrassed to be writing this review, if only because I bought this for my daughter Ursula and then never gave it to her. Like VH1, I really believe in the educational value of music, especially since I was in a Doors tribute band in high school. (I played tambourine.) So I got this for my daughter but when it came and I opened the box, it really WAS a *Professional* tambourine, not a kid's toy. Since she's only 16, I thought I would keep it for her graduation. As I was putting it away, it made that fateful jingle and I got all a-tingle. I started to strum it and high school came back to me, headgear and all. So I took it with me to work the next day (at Wendy's) and I was A HIT with all the junior employees, who started calling me "Mr. Tambourine ... Read More:
