First, I had NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY the guitar before I ordered this 'cheap' guitar and had it shipped to Afghanistan where I am currently stationed. It arrived FAST, which is great. It arrived in good shape, which means that the packaging is good. After I put it together (strings anyway) I busted the small string (whichever one that is). Fifteen minutes later and a little theft from a buddies string stash I had my guitar strung and tuned.
Since there are hundreds of podcasts on how to play a guitar for free and books all over this base on how to play the guitar - I am proud to say that I can now 'get by' with a a few tunes. I just received my Jasmine Takamine today..and I absolutely LOVE it!!! It sounds decent, even though the strings it comes with is kinda rusty-looking (will probably need to get new strings eventually anyway, but the provided strings function at least). It's a really good guitar for a bargain price(I even had some extra cash to buy a padded bag and some other accessories for it). Tis not bad for my first guitar ever...

Really a very nice guitar for the money. The strings that come with it are a little stiff, so I might buy lighter weight strings, but this is a nice guitar that easily sounds like a guitar 4 times its price or better.

This is a great intermediate guitar built for gentle music...it has a very mellow voice, the overtones are clear, mid-range, and it is greatly softened by the minimally treated spruce body with a very slight curvature to the back. I bought mine 3 years ago retail ($329 + 9%) at a Guitar Center in Louisiana.
I recommend this guitar for jazz players and soft-voiced singers. >>More Details |
