Our son got one of these about 6 months ago, around his 2nd birthday. Now here we are, 6 months later, and this guitar is still serving its purpose - it's a toy.
He's not gentle with it. I've lost count of how many times I've seen him step on the body or the neck. It's still going strong. No broken strings, no quality problems at all. Guys - if your 10 or 12 year old is taking guitar lessons - buy him a guitar, not a toy that happens to be shaped like a guitar. >>More Details |

The golden melody is a nice harp though I prefer the delta frost by bushman it has a better sound and only cost about five dollars more.

The product looks good and shipping was fast. My only compliant is the picture on the outside of the box is of a different color item. This is a Christmas present and my daughter will be upset when she sees the purple guitar on the outside as she has been begging for a pink guitar. I know she will be happy when she opens it up but I am not looking forward to dealing with the initial disappointment on Christmas morning!

This seems to have much better sound than the even cheaper plastic recoder it replaced. It is well made and has good sound for the price. (Key words here are "for the price".) Don't expect it to compare to and "real" wooden instrunment. It does it's intended job well - teaching kids the basics of music but I gave 4 not 5 stars because it still hast that "plastic" sound quality but I doubt any inexpensive plastic recorer would be better
