Living near a field I can guarantee that we will have critters trying to warm themselves this time of year. We have pets, so poisons are out. Glue traps are messy and snap traps are a pain since it take several baitings before a successful catch. This trap is AWESOME. I've had it for a month now and I know I've caught quite a few mice. In fact I just placed an order for two more because they work so well. Easy to use, safe around pets, humane. Doesn't get any better.

The scarecrow works. That is it works under ideal circumstances. We have a lot of landscaping and wind trips it too easy. It trips so much (when no animal is nearby) that the batteries run down and it is useless when it is needed. If you have an open area that you're wanting to protect it probably will work fine. However, if you have a lot of landscaping that you are wanting to keep dogs, cats and chickens out of, you may find it to be a disappointment.

I have owned this product for nearly three weeks now and I love it simply because it really works! I have yet to spot a single spider or mice. The main reason that I bought this unit was to repel rodents away from my car. I just spent $4500.00 on my car to replace the engine wires and the main computer that was fried due to the rodents chewing on engine wires! This unit is really fantastic, I no longer see rat/mice trails any where near my house. There is only one thing that I 'm trying to find out and that is, why some of my guests can actually hear the unit? Not that this bothers me at all but I though humans were not supposed to hear the low frequency that this unit generates.

This product does not work, I tried this unit on small spiders (less than an 1/8" in size)and they just crouched down. The unit could not suck them up, and I'm really trying to get spiders double their size.

The area that traps the moths is quite small and I don't believe it attracts the moths as well as others I have used.

As goofy as it may seem, this is actually very effective at eliminating whatever is bothering you. Each winter we encounter about 1 - 3 wasps each week that find their way into our attic and then somehow get into our house (maybe the fireplace). We have 18 foot ceilings in our family room so it is hard to reach them. I bought this to see if I could rig it to an extension pole used for changing lights and then zap the wasps. I wasn't sure if it had the power to kill something as big as a wasp but it does, with a little help. As soon as the wasp touches the swatter, they fall straight down to the ground. I didn't start out with many fleas in my home, but I have seen a few fleas dead in this trap. I think if I had a lot of fleas there would be many in the trap.

I was hopeful based on other reviews that it would work. I had an issue with basic house flies that were getting in the house from outside. The racket uses 3 layers of screens, but this caused too much "wind" when trying to swat a fly out of the air. If you happen to hit one, the fly needs to touch two layers of screens at the same time to get zapped.
Since the racket is well... a racket-- you can't swat-to-kill when they are sitting on the counter. You just trap the fly and hope it walks on the racket and touchs the two layers... and then ZAP! I bought two, since I knew my son would want to try when he saw me swatting... but they both broke. One just quit zapping, and with the other the plastic and layers started coming apart. ... These traps are the best. I got all different types of traps all over but this is the only one that catches the critters. After using them for years, I found tricks to increase the chance of a catch. First, use them back to back facing different direction against a wall. Mice are near sighted so they run along walls to know where they are going. Second, put the traps where you see droppings. Mice is a creature of habit. They will return to the same routes all the time especially when they know there's food and where there's food, you will see their droppings. Third, make a thin trail of peanut butter leading to the feeding cup from the opening and add a small blob at the opening. Like an appetizer. This sucker is truly awesome at getting rid of annoying critters. I've been able to kill wasps, mosquitos, spiders, even large crickets, altho the crickets do take more exposure to shocks than the other smaller type bugs.
The weight of the handle and quality of construction will make you think twice about swinging it quickly to try and swat flies, but other than that, it's a great item and does what is says it does and slightly more.
