If you play the game regularly, sure it's convenient to sign up with the bliz plans. But, why pay the tax bliz charges when you can pay the same rate (or better, if you normally go shorter plans) by getting this from Amazon? Always makes a great gift, and never spoils in the mail.
Plus, with the recent release of the expansion (Wrath of the Lich King), your gamer may need a few of these.

I have played this game for around two years and have multiple level 70 characters and thoroughly enjoy it. However the game is broken (as of october 2008) and unplayable at the moment due to horrendous lag issues and server shut downs. Check out the forums for more information, well no information really, but you'll see the scale of the problem:
My advice is avoid this game and the new expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King like the plague until the game becomes playable again. Just thought I'd save you some dollars and whole bunch of frustration.

I really like the game, though there needs to be a real sequel. Also need to ditch the squares. They can be used as guidelines, but being able to draw property lines would make it more interesting. Just an idea. I will continue to like this game, but Maxis should get the title back and make a better scalable involvement one for those of us who wouldn't mind micromanaging, but keeping the bigger picture for those who just like watching cities grow.

This is a welcome addition to the Sims 2 universe! This expansion creates a new "age" range the young adult. There is so much to do with this expansion, but the basic idea is that you and your Sims you created (or selected from a group of already created Sims) attend one of three universities. From there you can select your major, change your major and get on the Deans list. Attending classes means homework and you will also have to bring up certain attributes (Cleaning, Charisma, Cooking, etc) to continue through your four years of college. Join a society, either a frat of a sorority by becoming a Pledge and earning friends for life. You will reside in either a private home on campus (this lets you get married and have kids while attending college) or you ... Read More:

I recently bought a macbook, so none of my old sims disks would work on my mac. I couldn't stand not playing the game, because it's the greatest game of all time...so I had to at least order the first disk of the sims 2 for the mac platform.
I received the item promptly and undamaged. A+ service!

This game can be called a beneficial game to play . Meaning in that it helps with people of all ages with developing problem solving and cognitive thinking;as well as being a fun game with great graphics as well. I have tried this before so I know what I was getting into and pretty much so have gotten pretty good at it.. I have played various puzzle games in the past. Dr Mario, Tetris. various online ones at pogo.com and such. I find this one to be the most interesting as it offers alotta variety and skill levels . From very simple to quite trying and complex . This game would be great too for children for helping develop those problem solving skills they will need later in life as well. Its great for adults for mind game type of games keeping the mind young, ... Read More:

I saw other posted similair reviews to what I'm about to post.
If you're looking at getting into this game, avoid it for now. There are several other mmorpgs coming out that I'm considering picking up now. When I first started playing this game two years ago it was fun, challenging, and custormer service was good. As of November 2008, the realms are down daily, the patches have made the game easier and easier (Quest objects sparkle from across the map, instead of actually having to LOOK for them), classes are unbalanced (they constantly nerf and buff classes with each patch), and customer service is horrible...not providing real answers to thier customers.
Overall, Blizzard has finally come to understand that so many people play this ... Read More:

I like this expansion pack for the Sims 2 because it adds another aspect to the game. It's kind of a game within the game as you create your business and try to make money and keep the customers happy. I have always thought it would be nice to be able to "go to work" with the characters instead of them just being "gone" all day, and now you kind of can!

I consider myself pretty techie but this software is hard to use. I see a recipe I'd like to add to my menu plan and I have to go out of the cookbook and back into the menu plan and add it. I'm not expecting drag and drop (although how cool would that be?) but tedious to build a plan. Then menu plan vs. meal plan and confusing term swaps. It also wants to add ingredients in it's own way--making me tab through to add things the way I want (cheese in ounces vs. slices). Maybe I didn't study it enough but I've just been very challenged in using it so far. I'm sticking with my pencil and paper and xerox copies of recipes I like!
