This is an awesome product. It is easily backward compatible with previous versions of Office. It is much more user friendly and much easier to personalize buttons and toolbars to how one person uses word. I highly recommend it.

I own an aluminum 24" iMac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM) and a Black Macbook (2.4 GHz Intel, 4GB RAM) and I naively thought Microsoft Office 2008 for the Mac would be "equivalent" to the Windows/PC version and was I ever so surprised. Being a Windows-based MS Office user for decades, I thought that the Mac version would closely mirror the Windows edition. Hmmm...not so much. The basic functionality of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Entourage (a PIM which I don't use) is there, but this version does not seem as full-featured or as stable as the Windows version. It's a mild adjustment - the ribbon from Office 2007 is not there and most commands are located in drop down menus - which is not the sleekest method, but functional nonetheless. ... Read More:

Quickbooks 2009 still fails miserably when it comes to interoperability with past versions. Also, the multiple ways to save, share, or backup a file are a throwback to software ala 1990. A related issue is that these files are probably much larger than they need to be. Furthermore, the software is always trying to impose Web access on the user, often for marketing purposes. Moreover, I tried the online banking feature, but my bank apparently was not ready for 2009. In my opinion, this product still does not meet modern standards for software quality. I wish there was a widely-used alternative.

I received the Norton 360 around March. It has really messed up my computer. If I leave the firewall on, I can't use my internet. I can't schedule a defrag because Norton won't let me. It is really ridiculous!!
I would not recommend this product to anyone!.

The company sent me an illegal copy of Microsoft Office, and I returned it to them. They were prompt with their email answers to me, and the refund was handled in a timely way.

P.S. I accidentally hit three stars and the review form would not let me change it to two stars.
Last year I bought Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 Preferred for my son. He had no trouble installing it, did mention that the program was "scary smart," and now says it makes his job easier and he uses it constantly. For many months I have been toying with the idea of getting one for myself as it is getting difficult for me to type because of pain in my hands; however, I have been using computers for about 20 years now so am very familiar with the ups and downs of software support - who provides it and how good it is. I always check a product's support pages before purchasing their product(s) - sometimes I DO learn from experience.
what kind of a company rewards loyal users by putting up a roadblock to productivity? this is the worst software 'upgrade' i have ever seen, and I've been using software for the past 20 years. yes, there are additional useful features. yes, there are fixes to previous limitations. but no, they did not have to be implemented with a completely new UI. The office ribbon is like GM taking the steering wheel and putting it on the other side of the car, and calling that a better car, though indeed, the new car has a better engine. WTF? why would anyone approve this without at least having an option, add-in, or whatever work around to go back to the classic menus? unfortunately this is a business school case worthy example of how not to treat your customers.

wow I have only had this product for a day and a half. And I am very very impressed with it. The installation of the product(dragon) only took about 10 minutes to install. The voice recognition took about another 10 to fully understand my voice patterns. Actually it started understanding my voice within the first 1 to 2 seconds. I already sent out a ton of e-mails to friends and family. Telling them about this product. All of them are super impressed that for the most part I never even have to touch the keyboard. Most of them have seen my previous e-mails and no that I'm not the greatest typer in the world and misspell words quite a bit. They are impressed of how accurate this software is. For a person like me with a reading disability. This product I would have to say is the ... Read More:

The only reason I gave this only 4 stars is because I found it a bit difficult to use right out of the box. I used Money for so many years that I found Quicken a bit confusing a first. Made many errors in the beginning. Quicken help desk is great which I would give them 5 stars.
