I received the Norton 360 around March. It has really messed up my computer. If I leave the firewall on, I can't use my internet. I can't schedule a defrag because Norton won't let me. It is really ridiculous!!
I would not recommend this product to anyone!.

I thought this would be worth a try since it came included with Qwest DSL service, and reviews here seemed generally positive. It did not work well on my 7-year old system, though. After a couple weeks struggling with it, I finally was able to uninstall it.
First of all, this requires a lot of RAM. My system was doing OK, but getting a bit low on RAM at 384 MB until I installed this. With Windows Live OneCare installed it wanted around 500 MB just to boot up--even while not running anything. So it was using Virtual Memory and paging like crazy, with the CPU pegged at 100%, even after I let it sit for hours, thinking it just needed to run an initial scan. Well, RAM is cheap and it was time, so I went ahead and upgraded to 1 GB (as much as my old motherboard ... Read More:

I love Symantec's Norton Internet Security! I've been using this to protect my computer since 2002, and haven't had any problems. As soon as I installed this 2008 version, Symantec sent me a message letting me know a free upgrade was available to the 2009 version! Plus, I received this item earlier than expected. I couldn't be any happier! Thanks!

I have a Macbook on which I use a program called VMWare Fusion to run Windows programs like Quicken. The external hard drive that I use to back up my Windows programs did not work for my Mac programs because the Mac did not recognize the NTFS file system on the hard drive. After doing some research, I discovered this product, which enables me to go seamlessly between backing up my Windows and Mac programs on the same hard drive. The program resides in the background, so once you install it, there is nothing further to do.
Although there is a free program called MacFuse that does the same thing as the Paragon product, for my needs it had certain technical quirks, which is why I bought the Paragon product.
Over the past few years, I have tried several anti-virus (AV) and internet security (IS) packages. I have tried Zone Alarm, Panda, Trend Micro and others. I believe that any are generally adequate and trusworthy, but a site search (and my own experience) will often reveal that BitDefender (BD) AV and IS products give the best balance of protection, system demands and cost. I have been very happy with both the older BD AV Plus and the more current BD Internet Security 2008, especially when one considers the relatively low annual cost of ownership.

This product is very easy to install and configure. While the graphical interface is quite archaic, the functions are well placed and simple to use.
For monitoring the amount of time someone spends on the internet or computer itself, the software excels.
The reason for the 2 star rating is the fact that the company claims to have an effective system for protecting kids on the internet. This is a false claim and I will explain why.
The software claims to have 2 systems in place for disallowing the computer user to surf to smut sites. One of them is general categorical site blocking, the other blocks everything except URLs the administrator manually inputs.
The problem with the former system, blocking sites by category, is the it is too restrictive for ... Read More:

Before I started to use Fix-it, for a while I didn't have any protection on my computer or system utilities. Simply because they were doing more mess than average trojan. My boyfriend bought it for his computer, so I said that I will give a try one more time ( I'm optimistic person, anyway I can always uninstall it). Since than, I can't imagine my lap without it. Virus database bigger than most of the anti virus programs, simple use, fast, not slowing down my laptop ( like ex. Norton ), so many useful things on one place, and customer support was very quick and helpful. Just all the best.

I bought WipeDrive 5 to erase my harddrive prior to recycling my PC. The instructions included with the CD are somewhat lacking. The online/website support, however, is top notch. The online support was absolutely neccessary for me to use WipeDrive correctly and successfully. The online support not only includes instructions for using WipeDrive but also instructions for preparing your PC and re-loading your operating system. If you are going to erase the harddrive on your only working PC, I highly recommend visiting the support website and printing out as much information as possible. If you have two or more computers, I would have the support website available before, during and after using WipeDrive.
WipeDrive 5 gives you several options for erasing your harddrive based on several US, DoD, and foreign ... Read More:

This product does not work with Vista or XL even though the packaging says it does. I had to call support and they had to download something to make it compatible with my pc and laptop. It was a very big hassle. I keep getting popup windows when I'm on the laptop that say that an Apple computer is trying to hook up. I'm not sure what this is all about.
The good thing about it is Trend Micro found 28 viruses that Norton had not found.
